It is with a heavy heart that I wanted to announce to you all that my father, Jesse Rodriguez, passed away this afternoon at age 95. He was a life long resident of San Antonio, including 63 years in Bel Meade. He lived a long and fruitful life and was glad for all the associations and friendships he had over the many years.
At the end of January of this year, he came down with pneumonia and an internal infection. He was in and out of the hospital and nursing home over the past several months, trying to recuperate. We thought he had his illness licked in April. He spent 10 days at home then and went into see his Doctor for a routine visit for prescriptions. As an afterthought, I had mentioned to the Doctor that he had been a bit congested. She listened to him breath and ordered a chest x-ray. I was called later that evening and told to bring him back into the hospital because he had pneumonia again.
He had been at BAMC and the nursing facility since then, entering BAMC again this past May 14. The Doctors had been administering aggressive treatments to get rid of his infections, but his lung and kidney functions finally gave out today.
Arrangements are pending, but will probably be next week. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery. I'll forward information on arrangements as I find out about it.
Thank you all and keep him in your prayers.
Jim Rodriguez

"Hacemos tu Árbol Genealógico... El Árbol más Hermoso de la Creación"
Por medio de la historia familiar descubrimos el árbol más hermoso de la creación: nuestro árbol genealógico. Sus numerosas raíces se remontan a la historia y sus ramas se extienden a través de la eternidad. La historia familiar es la expresión extensiva del amor eterno; nace de la abnegación y provee la oportunidad de asegurarse para siempre una unidad familiar".
