Dear Friends and family:
Happy New Year. This is Somos Primos eighteenth year as an online
magazine. It has been a challenging, but enjoyable adventure.
Thank you to all those that shared stories, articles, clips, leads, and
ideas. You are the reason for the heritage diversity expressed in Somos
Primos. I am sincerely and deeply grateful to all of you for you
interest and support to the mission of Somos Primos.
I would like to respond publicly to the numerous invitations I have
received to be a social networking friend. Thank you for your extended
friendship, but please forgive me for not accepting your kind
invitation. In preparing Somos Primos, I approach it as a full-time
job and regularly work overtime.
I spend so many, many hours daily on the computer, I decided it would
not be wise to add another computer-related activity. I always enjoy
and welcome your letters and comments.
As editor, I look for Spanish/Latino related heritage, cultural, and
historical information which will strengthen our youth, families and
country. I am guided, and base the material for inclusion on Philippians
4:8:
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if
there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
I sometimes include items that are not lovely or of good report, but
they are true and deal with things that are unjust.
Looking forward to another interesting year of preparing Somos Primos.
May your hopes be high, your visions broad, and success, comfortable.
Warmly, Mimi
